MATTHEW J. GARVER, PH.D.
Dr. Matthew J. Garver is an Associate Professor of Kinesiology in the School of Nutrition, Kinesiology, and Psychological Science at the University of Central Missouri. He is an award-winning teacher who instructs Introduction to Kinesiology, Foundations of Exercise Physiology, Advanced Exercise Physiology, and Exercise Metabolism. He is also the program and internship coordinator for Kinesiology, BS. His research interests include applied aspects of exercise science, and recent focus has been in the area of sport performance. He is active in the Central States American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Garver earned degrees from Lee University and Central Washington University and his Ph.D. in Exercise Science from The Ohio State University.
WHITLEY J. STONE, PH.D.
Dr. Whitley J. Stone is an Assistant Professor in the School of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport at Western Kentucky University. Dr. Stone earned degrees from Lee University, Western Kentucky University, and Middle Tennessee State University. She dedicates herself to serving students in the classroom, contributing to scholarly activities, and being active in the kinesiology community. Common courses taught by Dr. Stone are Introduction to Kinesiology, Introduction to Exercise Science, and Physiology of Exercise. In service, Dr. Stone maintains editorial positions for the International Journal of Exercise Science, Topics in Exercise Science and Kinesiology, and directs the International Community of Scholars in Kinesiology.
